In 2014 we started The Alphabet Adventures as a way of discovering new places to visit and activities to do in our local area and beyond. When we lived in London we failed to explore some of the beautiful places around us and stuck to what we knew and were familiar with. Since moving to France our boys have gained in confidence, we're all willing to try new things as a family, and we have a car to take us further afield! Here you can find quick links to all of our adventures, and do let us know if you have any adventures of your own!
A - Albi: a boat ride, a visit to a museum of miniatures and an indoor market hall. We saw pretty riverside houses, explored the old town and had an outdoor lunch with family. You can also read about our
adventures in Arcachon here!
B - Bruniquel: a walk around the town outside of the tourist season and a visit to the Chateau where the boys pretended to be knights!
C - Camping: our first family camping trip where we pitched near the beach at the beautiful Panorama Camping site (not far from Bordeaux.) We splashed in the sea, found a Kids Parc and a bowling alley to escape from the rain, and climbed the Grand Dunes of Pilat. You can also read about
our camping trip in Spain here!
G - Goat Farm: just down the road from us is a moulin and goat farm where they produce delicious cheeses that can be bought from local markets or direct from their farm shop.
G - Geocaching:
a super fun activity for all ages. All over the world 'caches' have
been hidden. You can go on your own mini treasure hunts to find them.
Read all about us finding our very first one. You can also read about
our trip down south in our campervan to
Gruissan.
N - Narbonne: mobile home life in the South of France with time on the beach, mini golf, a train ride around the city and an amazing Safari park.
