Hi, we're the Brown family! Originally from London, in 2013 we decided to leave the craziness of city life for a slower pace in the Tarn-et-Garonne region of South West France. Here we have settled nicely into country village life. We've become accustomed to tractors on the roads, the electricity cutting out during storms, and everything shutting down for 2 hours over lunch. It's a very different way of life, but we love it. Becky teaches music, Andrew is Media Man (think all things computers!) and Reuben and Jacob are happy in the local village school.

Before we moved to France we started blogging as 'La Famille Brown', writing about the build up to our new French life and as a way for family and friends to keep in touch with what we were getting up to once we moved. It was a blog that Becky enjoyed writing and was soon picked up by Living France magazine as a blog with insider knowledge. This blog evolved into 'Rue du Belvedere' named after the road we then lived on. This blogs final resting place is Wild Oak Wood.

In 2017 we bought our dream home, an old farmhouse with 5 and a half hectares of land. This year we're planning to set up a glamping business as well as slowly build up a smallholding. Our aim is to be as self sufficient as we can and we're already on the way with animals and ambitious veg patch plans. We regularly post pictures of family life and France on Instagram, you can follow our inspiration boards on Pinterest, and on Facebook and Twitter we share more of what we do from day to day.

We would love for you to take the time to follow our journey!
