One year on...and the start of a new blog!

It's official, we've survived a year! And what a year it's been! We've done so much more than we could have ever imagined when we first decided to move to France. We are so excited to think what the next year might bring and here's a little round up of just some of the things we've done so far...

After packing up the house and saying goodbye to our boxes we said goodbye to London back in July 2013. Andrew had successfully learnt to drive and we bought a car ready for our new life in France (can't do anything without a car round here.) The first summer felt like a holiday as we attended village festivals and discovered a cow that thought it was a horse!

After the familiarity of August, September threw us into new territory as Reuben started school and we discovered the joys of seasonal festivals such as the sweet chestnut festival and Tractomania. We retreated into the warmth of our little house (thanks to our supply of winter wood) and celebrated our first Christmas in France with family and friends.

The New Year brought much needed work for Andrew (which hasn't stopped since) and I experienced life as a teacher, teaching English to French children and piano to beginners. We bought our first set of chickens and had fun eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first egg!

I've had so much fun writing about our journey and have learnt so much about blogging. From September I will be launching a new blog to replace La Famille Brown. It will still focus on our family and life in France, but will also allow me to move more into recipies and crafts which I have discovered time for since moving! I'm excited to get it started and hope that you will still continue to follow our journey. (I will post here when the new blog is live!)

Thank you to everyone who has helped us this past year. We're look forward to the year ahead!

Becky, Andrew, Reuben and Jacob xx
